Glasgow

Looking after regulated firms across Glasgow and the west of Scotland.

Glasgow is home to one of the UK's largest financial districts outside London, the International Financial Services District on the Clyde, with a dense surround of accountancy, actuarial and wealth-advisory firms. Our team is in Edinburgh, around fifty minutes east, so we can be in the city when it helps and run your IT and security as one accountable team the rest of the time.

There is a nice symmetry to it. The first time data crossed an ocean, it was made to work from Glasgow, where Lord Kelvin's instruments at the University let the transatlantic cable carry a signal in 1858. Tell us where your IT and security are now, and we will tell you what good looks like.

faq

IT support in Glasgow, answered plainly

Our team is based in Edinburgh, around fifty minutes east, and we look after firms right across Glasgow and the west of Scotland. Day-to-day IT and security are run remotely by the same team that knows your environment, and we are in the city in person when it helps.

Most day-to-day IT and security is run remotely. When something needs hands on a machine, we draw on a trusted network of vetted on-site engineers, our smart hands, who come to your office to set up devices, make changes and handle the physical work, alongside our team. You get someone on site when you need it, not just a phone line.

Wealth managers, asset managers and chartered accountancy practices, typically of five to fifty people, including firms in and around the International Financial Services District. The common thread is that they are regulated, hold sensitive client data, and want IT and security run as one accountable job rather than split between suppliers.

Glasgow made the first transatlantic data link work

Glasgow on the River Clyde

The first data across an ocean

William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, was professor of natural philosophy at the University of Glasgow from 1846 to 1899. The mirror galvanometer and siphon recorder he devised in his lab were what finally let the 1858 and 1866 transatlantic telegraph cables carry a readable signal across the ocean: arguably the world's first long-distance data link.
