Last updated: 14 June 2026

These terms govern your use of this website. By browsing the site, using its tools or contacting us through it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Who we are

This website is operated by Novix IT Ltd, a managed IT and security partner for UK wealth management and chartered accountancy firms, operating from Edinburgh and London.

Novix IT Ltd is registered in Scotland under company number SC740691, with its registered office at 4 Redheughs Rigg, South Gyle, Edinburgh, Midlothian, EH12 9DQ, United Kingdom.

For anything in these terms, contact hello@novixit.co.uk or call +44 (0) 333 358 0560. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Novix IT Ltd, and "you" means the person using the site.

Using this website

You may use this site for your own information and to get in touch with us about our services. You agree not to:

  • use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else's rights
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its security without our written consent
  • introduce malware, or attempt to disrupt, overload or impair the site or its availability to others
  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract the site's content, or reuse it in a way these terms do not permit
  • submit false, misleading or other people's personal details through our forms or tools

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, in whole or in part, where we reasonably need to.

The information on this site

The content on this site is published for general information about Novix IT and what we do. It is not professional, legal, security or financial advice, and you should not treat it as a substitute for advice tailored to your circumstances. Before you act on anything you read here, take advice that fits your situation.

We take care to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current or error-free, and we may change its content at any time without notice.

The tools on this site

Some pages offer interactive tools, such as the downtime cost calculator and the breach-check tool. These are provided to help you think a problem through, on an "as is" basis:

  • The downtime cost calculator gives an indicative estimate from the figures you enter. It is a planning aid, not a quote, a guarantee or a statement of your actual losses.
  • The breach-check tool draws on third-party breach data and shows only what that data contains. A result of "not found" does not mean your details are safe, and a match does not mean your current accounts are compromised. Treat it as a prompt to act, not a security audit.

Decisions you make on the strength of these tools are your own. For an assessment of your situation, speak to us.

Intellectual property

The content of this site, meaning text, graphics, logos, images, layout and code, belongs to Novix IT Ltd or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may view it, and print or download extracts, for your own reference. You may not otherwise copy, republish, distribute or exploit it commercially without our written permission. The Novix IT name and logo may not be used without our consent.

Links to and from this site

Where this site links to external sites, those links are offered for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices; a link is not an endorsement. If you link to this site, do so fairly and lawfully and in a way that does not damage or misrepresent our reputation. We may withdraw permission to link at any time.

Availability of the site

We aim to keep the site available, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or fault-free, and we may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it for maintenance or other reasons.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or from reliance on its content or tools, including loss of profit, business, data or goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss. This does not affect the separate terms that govern any services you engage us to provide.

These terms and our services

This website describes our services, but nothing on it is a contractual offer. Any services we provide to you or your firm are governed by the separate written agreement that covers that engagement. Where that agreement and these terms differ in respect of the services, the agreement prevails.

Privacy

How we handle the personal data this site collects is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site, are governed by the law of Scotland, and the courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the revised date shown at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
